Stash Ventures LLC is looking for a diligent Controller to join our accounting department. The controller position is responsible for all accounting operations of the Company. This includes the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk. The controller is also responsible for enhancing the accuracy of the company's reported financial results and ensuring that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles. To be successful as a Controller, you should be able to accurately manage all aspects of the financial operations of the Company and ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). An outstanding Controller should also have excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills which will foster an environment of growth and innovation. Oversee all accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, budgeting, monthly financial reporting and general ledger functions. Analyze and evaluate financial performance of organization about long-term operational goals, budgets and forecasts. Establish and manage internal control systems to safeguard company assets and prevent fraud. Create and establish yearly financial objectives that align with the Company's plan for growth and expansion. Oversee accounting and payroll team and provide necessary feedback on work performance, keeping the team aligned with the Company's overarching goals. Implement policies, procedures and processes as deemed appropriate to ensure financial compliance. Prepare and present monthly financial budget reports including monthly profit and loss by division, forecast vs. budget by division and cash flow by division. Review and analyze monthly financial results and provide recommendations. Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights to support decision making. Ensure timeliness and accuracy of financial and management reporting data for the Company's leadership team, and applicable third parties, including state regulators, auditors, and the Company's tax advisor. Develop and implement action plans to proactively respond to changes in state and federal regulations. Act as a strategic business partner to the executive leadership team. Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities): Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance or Economics and 10 or more years of progressive financial experience within the manufacturing and ideally retail industries. A Master's degree or a CPA, CMA, or CFA designation are highly desirable. Experience and skill in supply chain finance, financial analysis, forecasting, budgeting, cost accounting, inventory accounting, financial reporting, GAAP knowledge, and finance and accounting compliance. Experience working in the cannabis industry is preferable. Self-accountability, high standard of performance, and productivity. Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and presentation communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex numerical data effectively, and clearly relay information to ensure an understanding to both technical and non-technical audiences. Ability to produce financial and compliance related deliverables, both internally and externally to regulators and third-party auditors. Advanced Excel skills, high degree of computer literacy, ability to learn new software, and strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe. Professional and personal integrity that will inspire trust and confidence among company owners, coworkers, subordinates, and regulatory officials. Supervisory skills that support the development of financial and compliance staff and create an environment which fosters growth and innovation.
