What You’ll Do We are seeking an innovative Senior Manager, Legal Operations to lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing Legal Operations function. In this critical people leadership role, you will directly manage and grow a small team while driving strategic transformation across legal technology, process design, and cross-functional partnerships. You will serve as a key thought partner to the General Counsel and Legal Leadership Team in shaping operational excellence for the department. Team Leadership & Development Lead, coach, and develop a team of legal operations professionals to execute projects aligned with Legal’s priorities and BetterUp’s mission. Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and inclusive collaboration. Define and communicate team goals, roles, and performance metrics aligned with broader department strategy. AI & Legal Technology Implementation Oversee the evaluation, adoption, and scaling of advanced legal technology solutions, including AI-driven platforms and automation tools. Drive strategies to integrate generative AI, CLM systems, e-billing tools, and compliance technologies to enhance speed, accuracy, and scale. Strategic Operations & Project Delivery Partner with Legal and cross-functional leaders (including Finance, HR, and IT) to design and execute initiatives that streamline legal workflows and improve cross-team collaboration. Serve as the primary operational advisor to the General Counsel on project prioritization and capacity planning. Data, Reporting & Change Management Define and track KPIs and dashboards to measure impact, team performance, and efficiency gains. Champion change management efforts for tool adoption and process improvements across teams. Lead training and enablement efforts to increase adoption of new tools and practices. What We’re Looking For If you have some or all of the following, please apply: 10+ years of experience in legal operations or related functions within in-house legal departments, ideally in high-growth or enterprise environments. 2+ years of experience leading people, including hiring, mentoring, and performance management. Demonstrated success in building and developing high-performing teams. Proven track record of identifying, implementing, and scaling legal technology and AI-powered platforms (e.g., CLM, e-billing, compliance automation). Strong project and change management capabilities, including experience aligning cross-functional stakeholders. Clear communicator with a bias for action, operational curiosity, and deep empathy for both legal and business partners. Experience building consensus and driving transformation across legal, finance, HR, and/or IT functions. A growth mindset and a passion for innovative, human-centered problem-solving.
