Job Description Your Career This role supports Palo Alto Networks’ legal department by managing outside counsel engagements and legal spend. Responsibilities include selection, onboarding, performance evaluation, billing review, and maintaining legal technologies for e-billing, matter management, and spend analytics. The role reports to the Director, Head of Legal Operations, and collaborates with internal legal teams, finance, and outside counsel. Your Impact Oversee quarterly and annual legal budget planning with Finance. Collaborate to forecast and budget legal spend. Develop strategies to reduce outside counsel spend while maintaining quality. Implement law firm panel programs and spend optimization strategies. Manage onboarding, selection, and performance of outside counsel. Negotiate billing rates and alternative arrangements. Oversee e-billing accuracy, compliance, invoice review, and processing. Develop legal spend analytics and reporting to identify trends and savings. Implement and support legal technology solutions for outside counsel management. Stay current on industry best practices. Train legal teams and outside counsel on billing and e-billing processes. Drive continuous improvement in legal operations. Build collaborative relationships with cross-functional partners. Qualifications Your Experience Self-starter with enthusiasm, capable of working independently and supporting projects as needed. Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively. Attention to detail and sound professional judgment. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. 7+ years in legal operations, focusing on outside counsel management and legal billing systems. Experience with legal technology solutions, including matter management and spend analytics platforms. Compensation Disclosure The salary range for this position is $142,000 - $178,000 annually, depending on qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation may include stock units and bonuses.
