In this role as a Psychiatrist you will provide direct patient care, including psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and emergency services for individuals struggling with mental health and addiction issues, intellectual disabilities, or situational maladjustment. In addition, the Psychiatrist will participate in staff training and development activities, contribute to program evaluation and grant applications, and engage in public behavioral health education initiatives. The Psychiatrist position offers a full-time hybrid work schedule (remote + in-person mix) Monday - Friday 8:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. Key responsibilities include examining, diagnosing, and creating treatment plans for patients with mental health and/or addiction medicine concerns; providing direct patient care including psychiatric evaluations and medication management; carrying a caseload; participating in emergency services; ensuring comprehensive follow-up care; joining client staffing meetings; attending required meetings and trainings; supporting management needs such as data collection and grant applications; engaging in public and community behavioral health education; adhering to quality assurance procedures; completing psychiatric evaluations and medication follow-ups; participating in on-call rotation; offering medical/psychiatric consultation; collaborating with Nurse Practitioners, fellows, residents, and students; and performing other duties as assigned. The role requires effective communication skills, proficiency with electronic health records, basic math skills, ability to work in a group practice, and experience with diverse patient populations. Qualifications include a medical degree, completion of a psychiatry residency, board certification or eligibility, and a valid medical license.
