Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (CSHL), a world-renowned, non-profit, biomedical research and educational facility on Long Island’s North Shore, is searching for a professional individual to fill the role of Senior Scientific Administrator to support two faculty and their research groups working in the area of human genetics.

The Administrator will be responsible for managing schedules (including travel), interacting with external partners, and assisting in the preparation and submission of grant applications, including progress and financial reports. The Administrator will be expected to communicate regularly and effectively with the necessary departments to ensure the successful execution of the tasks listed above.

Position Requirements

Education : Bachelor’s degree.

Experience: A minimum of 7 years experience in a senior level administrative role required as well as exceptional organizational, time management, communication and computing skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Adobe Acrobat. Experience with submission of federal grants for scientific research and familiarity with scientific/technical terminology is valuable. Knowledge and experience with graphic arts to produce figures and tables would be a huge asset.

Other: Must be able to work independently, multi-task, and effectively prioritize competing demands.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future. When determining a base salary and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., years of relevant experience, education, credentials, and internal equity).
