Fuss & O’Neill is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our growing MEP team. In this role, you’ll lead mechanical system design projects across diverse markets, including commercial, industrial, educational, and municipal sectors. Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, ASHRAE standards, and client requirements.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, and budget for assigned projects.
  • Serve as primary client contact, fostering strong relationships and ensuring satisfaction.
  • Coordinate multi-disciplinary design teams, including internal and external partners.
  • Conduct site visits to support design and construction phases.
  • Lead project meetings and maintain clear communication with clients, consultants, and contractors.
  • Support business development efforts, including proposal preparation and level-of-effort estimating.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team technical development.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • EIT certification (PE preferred or ability to obtain within 6 months)
  • 5+ years of experience in MEP building systems design (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection)
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit for MEP design
  • Strong knowledge of building codes and ASHRAE standards
  • Experience with energy modeling software
  • Proven ability to manage projects through design and construction phases
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for client and team coordination
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to travel 1–2 days/week to project sites in MA, CT, and RI

This is a hybrid role , offering the best of both worlds—collaborate in-office with a high-performing team and enjoy the flexibility of working remotely part of the week. We're committed to supporting work-life balance while maintaining strong team connection and project delivery.
